These simple and easy vegetable baby food recipes are for homemade baby veggie purées. There is nothing as yummy as a tasty homemade baby food. It is healthy and fresh.

Your baby will love the tastes of fresh veggies. You will love the ease and simplicity of the this vegetable recipes. I combined them in four colours – more for fun really, but also they taste delicious 😉 Also, they are suitable for freezing.

RECIPE

Parsnip and Cauliflower 

Ingredients

  • 1 medium parsnip peeled and cut into slices
  • 150g cauliflower florets washed

*makes 2-3 portions

*suitable for freezing

*suitable from 6 months

*Prep time 10 minutes

*Cooking 10-15 minutes

Method:

  1. Steam parsnip and cauliflower 8-10 minutes
  2. Cool slightly, keep steaming water for blending
  3. Blend with food processor or hand blender until runny and smooth, add more liquid if you need.

Broccoli and Peas

Ingredients

  • 50g frozen peas washed
  • 100g broccoli florets washed

*makes 2-3 portions

*suitable for freezing

*suitable from 6 months

*Prep time 10 minutes

*Cooking 10-15 minutes

Method:

  1. Steam broccoli 8-10 minutes
  2. Boiled peas 3 minutes (or steam them for 2 minutes)
  3. Cool slightly, keep steaming water for blending
  4. Blend with food processor or hand blender until runny and smooth, add more liquid if you need.

Carrots and Sweet Potato

Ingredients

  • 250g sweet potato peeled and cut into cubes
  • 1 medium carrot peeled and cut into slices

*makes 2-3 portions

*suitable for freezing

*suitable from 6 months

*Prep time 10 minutes

*Cooking 10-15 minutes

Method:

  1. Steam sweet potato and carrot 10-12 minutes
  2. Cool slightly, keep steaming water for blending
  3. Blend with food processor or hand blender until runny and smooth, add more liquid if you need.

Tomato and Long Red Pepper 

Ingredients

  • 200g tomatoes washed and cut into halves
  • 1 long red pepper washed

*makes 2-3 portions

*suitable for freezing

*suitable from 6 months

*Prep time 10 minutes

*Cooking 18-25 minutes

Method:

  1. Roast tomatoes and long red pepper about 20 minutes (if possible use non-stick oven tray)
  2. Cool slightly and peel roasted skin from tomatoes and pepper
  3. Blend with food processor or hand blender until runny and smooth, add more liquid if you need.
