I start realizing that weaning will take longer than I thought it will, my list of single veggies and fruits that I’m planning to introduce to my baby is not even half away but at least we are loving it. So while we are being patient and carrying on 🙂 here I share my finger puppets of pear and sweet potato and of course my recipes.
RECIPE
Pear Puree
Ingredients
- 1 ripe pear
- 4-5 tbsp water (depends on size of your pear)
- cooled boiled water (or your baby’s usual milk)
Method
- Peel, core and quarter pear. Cut each quarter into 3 smaller pieces. Gently cook in saucepan (or in your baby steamer) with 4-5 tbsp of water, covered, for 10-12 mins, until soft. Stir occasionally.
- Cool slightly, than blend with food processor or hand blender until smooth. Add some of water or milk if you need.
Sweet Potato Puree
Ingredients
- 250g sweet potato
- cooled boiled water (or your baby’s usual milk)
Method
- Wash and peel sweet potato.
- Cut into small dice-sized cubes and steam for 10-12 mins until soft.
- Cool slightly, than add 4-5 tbsp of the water or milk.
- Blend with food processor or hand blender until runny and smooth, adding more liquid if you need.
REMEMBER
It is so important to get your baby used to simple, single veggie flavors from the start, so they can learn to love veggies for life. Each time I offer M single veggie first time she is not very keen but by third day she absolutely loves it. That’s why I introduce only one new food every three days (and to target potential allergies).
Keep Weaning and Have Fun 😉
