Simple Apple Bars

I’ve been in a autumn-inspired apple mood lately that demanded to be indulged. While thinking about all the delicious autumn foods I want to make, I got to thinking about one of my favorites…apple bars.

This apple bars has become my new snack food of choice the past few weeks. It’s got enough protein to actually fill me up for a little bit, and it encourages me to eat healthy apples–instead of just grabbing a handful of biscuits.

So, if you’re looking for a way to change up your afternoon snack game, or to have some fun while making those with your kids, I’ve got you covered.

Simple Apple Bars

INGREDIENTS

2 medium apples (peeled)

50 g porridge oats

40 g Flora buttery spread

4 tbsp honey

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tbsp chia seeds

*Prep time 20 minutes

*Cooking 15 – 18 minutes

PREPARATION

Preheat the oven to 180°C/350ºF/Gas 4

Grate the apples. Take spread out of the fridge at least an hour beforehand, to soften.

Mush the apples into the spread with a fork. Mix in the porridge oats and a honey. Sprinkle over the cinnamon and Chia seeds squeeze the mixture together with hands and spread over the non-stick baking tray. When baked cool them down before cutting into bars.

Enjoy!
