To start, in next series of purees that I’m planning to introduce you I’m not going to teach you how to make various vegetable/fruit’s purees as there are so many great books and websites about weaning. Although I will write recipes down for you simple it is useful and someone might follow my way. So we had our first puree hooray 🙂 I wanted to introduce to M her first puree in more fun way so I made carrot finger puppet 🙂 She was full of smiles and totally distracted by puppet that first few spoonfuls of carrot puree she loved. Happy mama! According to our first experience I think I’m going to make more cute veg and fruit finger puppets 🙂
I decided to start with vegetable carrot, you can start with fruit entirely up to you.
- 1 medium carrot
- cooled boiled water
- Peel carrot, and cut into slices
- Steam for 8-10 mins until soft. Cool slightly, then add 2 tbsp of the water
- Blend with a food processor or hand blender until smooth. Add more liquid if you need.
*almost all books and recipes I consulted say to use baby’s milk (breastmilk or formula depends) I use boiled water simply because I would like to introduce her real taste of each vegetable/fruit at very beginning.
p.s.don’t forget 3 DAY RULE when introducing new foods to your baby, follow the 3 Day Rule: only one new food every three days to target the source of any potential allergic reactions.
