DIY Photo Coasters

Hello, it is been a week since I haven’t posted anything, busy busy time of the year. Today I want to share my little project that I have been working on last week. If you are looking for a great present for a mom or grandparents, this is a super easy and affordable DIY Photo Coasters.  The tiles I got for free (just order for tile company samples, normally they send you 4 samples) or you can buy them I believe they are £1.50 each.

What you need

4 natural tiles (or any other model is fine)

Mod Podge 16 oz Matte Finish Coat, Multi-Colour £6.95

Rustins PBRUSHPACK Foam Brushes £3.95

4 photos printed on quality copy paper (I went to my local The UPS Store and had them printed)

Clean the tiles well and let them dry.  They typically have a lot of dust on them, so you have to make sure they are clean when you apply the Mod Podge.

I laid each tile on the photo and cut the photo to size for the tile.  Or even easy I recommend cropping and sizing before you print.

Apply the Mod Podge with a sponge applicator to the photo first. This is very important, otherwise your photos will bubble. Then, apply Mod Podge to the tile and place the photo on the tile.  Starting from the center, push the photo down with the sponge and add more Mod Podge.  Be sure you have enough product on the brush, otherwise you will mess up the photo with the friction.  Also, make sure you check for bubbles as you go.  You want the photos to lay nice and flat to the surface.
