Ten Minute Montessori: Exploring Magnets

Magnetic vs. non-magnetic is a very common Montessori activity and I’m sure you’ve seen it all over the blogosphere, but it’s something new on our shelves and I thought I’d share it anyway.

What makes an object be attracted to the magnet? Well, Mia might be a bit young to understand the concept of magnetism but she shows a great interest in exploring objects which may or may not be attracted by the magnet. I’ve put together collection of everyday objects some of which are attracted to a magnet and others that are not. Most of the objects I already have at home, I simply searched through my  manipulatives and alphabet box items.
