If you have children, then you will know how difficult it can be to keep things organised. You may feel as though things are always messy and that it is almost impossible for you to stay on top of things. This is understandable, but you need to know that it’s more than possible for you to turn things around. Take a look below to find out more.
The more stuff you have lying around your home, the more difficult it will be for your children to learn where things are and where they belong. One good place for you to start would be the playroom or place where children spend most of their playing time. When you do this, you will soon find that the rest of the house becomes very easy to manage.
Everything has a place
This system really does work. If everyone in your home knows where things have to go, then you will soon find that your house stops becoming cluttered. You do have to make sure that the “place” for that item makes sense though. If you put your mugs at the other end of your kitchen to your coffee machine, then this won’t make sense at all. If you put the coat rack away from the door, then, again, this won’t make sense.
Rotate your Toys
It’s a good idea for you to declutter, and then rotate your children’s toys if possible. Even if you have thrown out all of the toys they don’t want anymore, you still need to make sure that all of the remaining toys are not left out all the time. Having toy boxes will help you out a lot here because they are very cheap and sturdy. They are also a very good size too. You can keep some of your child’s favourite toys on the shelf, but everything else goes in the box. Every week, make sure that you change the toys around to get the maximum benefit.
Establish a routine
If you haven’t established a routine yet, then you have to make sure that you do. Daily cleaning routines do work best when they are properly worked into both your morning and evening routine. Ideally, you want them to become habit, so that you feel as though something is missing when you don’t do it. Daily cleaning routines help to keep any clutter at bay, and it will make your weekend cleaning routine take way less time too. As your children get older, make sure that you give them way more responsibilities if you can. Encouraging them to develop their own cleaning routine will also help you to keep their spaces both clean and organised.

Of course, it’s tempting to keep things out on your counter, but this is the last thing that you want to do. You need to wipe things down and you also need to try and make sure that you are not making it hard to do that, by having too much clutter out.
